Another innovation concerns the number of units needed to play. With the new Combat Patrol game mode, you now only need one box – then you can get started.
The Combat Patrol boxes are currently priced at around 100 euros. The Space Marines Combat Patrol Box contains, for example, a Primaris Lieutenant, ten Infiltrators, three Suppressors, three Eliminators and a Primaris Impulsor combat transporter.
According to the old game rules, these would be far too few units for a round of Warhammer. However, Games Workshop plans to adapt the rules of the tenth edition so that these troops will also be playable against each other.
But the 100 euros for the box are not quite enough. Warhammer fans will still have to take care of the colours and the assembly of the figures themselves. So Warhammer has not become an inexpensive hobby; but at least it is a lot more affordable.
The tenth edition of Warhammer will probably be released on Saturday, 24 June 2023. Pre-orders for the new Leviathan box will be available from 10 June.
